Annie, Alice and Jake are our LGD’s here at Quartz Ridge Ranch. They keep our animals safe from the predators we have up here in like Mountain Lions, Bears, Coyotes and Bob Cats. We rotate them around to different pastures so they get to know all our different animals. Most people misunderstand these types of dogs. They are not “house” dogs, they are bonded to our animals not our family. They do however, love to be pet, groomed and talked to. It was important to us to make sure the animals we have at the ranch are safe for our children and we held that standard to our LGD’s. They love our kids and are so gentle with them. We are very fortunate to have them here at the ranch
Annie lounging in her pasture – she is a four year old Akbash that we were able to give a home to. We found her through a LGD rescue group and she is amazing!
The three LGD’s hanging out in the snow. Jake and Alice (in the back) are Great Pyrenees. Annie is in the front.
Alice and Jake watching the kids sledding down the hill.
Jake, Alice and my kiddos…they all grow so fast!
